Ricky's space

     Well folks, another week over. Time just slips by when you don't notice it. Have you ever realized that when you are having fun, time really flies past so fast? When things suck, time just drags.

     Tomorrow night is clubbing night. I am not sure where I'll be going yet, but I'll take a few pictures, and let you guys know w'a's up.

     Is this it? Is this what life is all about? Working, going out, letting life slip by? Waiting for death to catch up?

     There has to be more to life than just this!

     What is a normal life these days? Working like a dog? Is money God? Seems like it to me. Seems like many people feel that money is not only power, but God itself.

     You know what I see? I see the world tearing itself to pieces. Social structures all over the globe are breaking down. Chaos is reigning in many places of the world.

     Here, in the good old US of A, we live, and somehow survive, in a candy - coated facade, a thinly - feiled barrier, to cover the reality of what is really going on everywhere else.

     In my home town, people are dying everyday. People are so poor, that human life is expendable. People are just dying in the streets, and no one cares.

     The rich get richer, while the poor are getting much poorer. The rich and powerful, exploit the poor and defenceless.

     Sometimes, I feel I am going mad with all of these thoughts.

     Why does freedom and democracy have to cost so much? Not only in money, but the cost in human life alone, is just appauling. Usually, it's the innocent who are sacrificed for the sins of guilty, but in democratic societies, this situation seems to be perfectly acceptable.

     Now and then, the powers - that - be may throw a token head down to the common people, which from time - to - time seems to appease their pent - up outrage.

     Just look at this Bernie Madoff crap? How many lives, and in how many countries, has this one man destroyed? And yet he can command Hollywood - like celebrity status. He is the worst kind of criminal.

Is this Bernie Madoff's Justice?

     My country, is maybe, one of the most violent countries in the world, and I don't mean the USA. Our primary export is Cocaine. It is such a profitable business that even the might of the entire US Government itself can't stop it. The profits buy and attract protection, technology, political power and maybe the worse thing, financial support.

I will be going home again soon. It is 9:30 pm now and it seems like another wasted day.

 

Well, at least tomorrow is Saturday and I have Sunday off as well this week.

 

I may go to one of the big clubs in LA tomorrow night and just kick back, listen to some soothing tunes. I like Salsa and the Puerto Rican hip hop sound. The Cabana Club in Hollywood is really a tricked - out place and not too expensive. The Mayan in LA's downtown is also a really cool place, with some great live Salsa bands.

 

I guess listening to club music is a way I can just relax. I suppose mostly it's the environment of the clubs themselves that's so attractive, combined with the class of clientele that frequent such places.

      You know what, being a software engineer is a lonely, time - consuming job. Never ending dead lines. Torturous government customers. No matter how good a job you do, they want it cheaper, or faster, or with more functionality, with more performance and with higher quality.
